The Chicago Friars Ski & Bike Club, a diverse group of people who love to ski, bike and be active year round.

The Chicago Friars has one of the most extensive summer schedules of ANY ski club in the Chicago area. If skiing, socializing, and summer-fun things are your faves, then joining the Friars is the right thing for you!

The Friars regularly ski Midwest areas to sharpen our skills, race and participate in great events like the CMSC Winter Carnival. We run multiple western ski trips, where the REAL mountains are, and enjoy every minute of them! All levels of skiers are welcome in our club...none of that snooty, we-don't-want-no-stinkin'-newbie-skiers attitude allowed here!

	Midwestern Ski Trips to destinations such as Brule, Marquette and Granite Peak, (Skiing, Racing, and Partying Weekends!); and Schuss/Shanty Creek (CMSC Winter Carnival! Get silly with several hundred CMSC skiers!).
	Western Ski Trips to the Rocky Mountains and Canada.
	Amateur Ski Racing at midwest areas. Thirst for the thrill of competition? Compete against other skiers for medals and bragging rights... The support from the Friar team is outstanding! Always wanted to try racing, but thought "I've never raced before, people will laugh at me..." Not so! From Newbie Racers doth Race Demons grow!

Sadly, winter must end sometime... But wait! Don't cry in your beer! (Really, don't. It dilutes the heck out of it and ruins the head.) The Friars always prepare for a summer full of fun!

	Camping Trips to places like Devils Lake, WI, and cabin camping trips!
	Biking Trips-both one day and weekend trips. We do trips from rails-to-trails paths to rolling countrysides. Our favorite Friar bike rides usually end up stopping at some kind of <ahem> "watering hole" or ice-cream parlor! Gotta keep that energy level up, y'know!
	Canoe/Rafting Trips-one day trips, weekend trips and white-water rafting! Find out what it feels like to get tossed into a Maytag set on SOAK/SPIN/REPEAT cycle?... Go rafting!

Social events such as ethnic dinners, pub crawls, broomball, picnics and ball games are always popular. Stop by a meeting and see what we're all about. You'll learn about a great ski club and make some new friends!
