Indianhead Revisited

I know summer plans are in motion and that's a good thing. Always keep in shape for skiing. Summer activities, especially all of the talk of skiing, around the camp fire, helps with physical fitness.

Sixteen hardy souls piled onto our bus at Cumberland. There was also 20 or so Pine Point riders. This made for a congenial group that partied all of the way up to Hurley. The salad, pizza, and cheese cake were readily consumed and washed down with the beverage of choice. There was plenty of beer, so people started pacing themselves for the long ride up. Late in the evening we tried one movie, which was booed off of the screen and replaced by another. However, by then, most of us were asleep or looking like we wanted to be asleep. The arrival at the Holiday Inn was uneventful, accept that we didn't have room keys in our packets. After retrieving our keys we disappeared into our rooms for a long four hours rest.

There was something for everyone at Indianhead. The racers, raced. The free skiers, skied. The boarders, boarded. The snow was very good. The weather was a little cold for a while. To the extent I could, I got around and found every one was having fun. Well, everyone accept Dennis Fuller. In his attempt to take two-tenths of a second off of his first run, he hit a gate, WRONG. His leg was broken. It's been healing for about six or more weeks now and Dennis is doing well. See him at a meeting I am sure he will tell you about it.

The week end provided an opportunity for a lot of winter fun and activities. The success of a trip depends largely on everyone's cooperativeness. I acknowledge all of you for following the schedule. I think the success of the trip is reflected in the words of the four new members who were looking for a get away week end. This is quote as I retrived them from the bar at the end of the day Sunday. "I don't remember another time I could ski, drink, and see naked ladies all in the same week end and not have to choose between them. See you next trip.
