Friars Bike Rides

We are fair weather riders but know how to dress for changing conditions.

Tips:

Please wear a helmet. Preserve your brain.

Bring a spare tube with you so a flat doesn't ruin your ride, or ours!

Bring water, and snacks if you know or think you will need fuel.

While we're generally pretty laid back, please be READY TO RIDE at start time. That means showing up 10-15 minutes early to get yourself ride-ready, water bottle filled, and other "personal adjustments" taken care of. We ride at start time.

WE WILL SCHEDULE SOME SHOW AND GO RIDES BUT WE'VE GOT A COUPLE ORGANIZED RIDES THAT MANY FRIARS ATTEND! JOIN US!

Saturday, June 15: Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee (MilwOZkee)

THIS IS NOT organized by Friars but a number of us do the ride each year. It is essentially a pub crawl on bikes to some of Milwaukee's quaint old bars, 15-20 miles over 6 or 7 hours -- not too tough!

About $35-50

Start time: 9:00 a.m.

More info and registration here.

This year's theme? Fat Tire Tour of MilwOZkee. Costumes welcome but not required; but there are so many fun options with the Wizard of Oz! Take pictures! But don't bring Toto.

Sunday, June 22: Friars' Pre-Picnic Ride to Botanic Gardens

Distance: 28 miles (or turnaround where/whenever you want)

Start location: Miami Woods shelter (Friars' picnic site)

Start time: 9:00 a.m., back by noon for the picnic

Route: North Branch Trail to Botanic Gardens and back

Leader: TBD
